| source This morning I had the fun privilege of running the Color Me Rad 5k with my running buddy and her sister. This was my first race of the entire year and I was graciously given the chance to run it thanks to Becca at (Just) One Run Away when she sent me a free code. Thanks again Becca!! The race was about an hour away from my town so we took off about 2 hours before race start. The Hubbs had picked up my packet for me and my partners since he was working down in that area. The race was much more packed than I expected and it grew even bigger as they started the waves. People had bags of colored cornstarch they were throwing around so it didn't take long to get the color on you. However, it took quite a while on the course to get to the first color station which was PINK! Some of the color was power and some was spray.
We weaved our way through a bunch of twists and turns and finally came to the finish where they pelted you with your final coat of blue powder, then everyone grabbed a bag of powder and as one big group shot it into the air. It looked amazing.
Needless to say I had powder everywhere!!
After
"mmm..cornstarch"
It was definitely a fun race and one that families enjoyed together. My boys were totally freaked out when they saw me. Definitely not the way Mommy usually looks after a race :)
I just want to give a final shout out to my blogger friends as I sit here in my awesome skater socks I won over at Pink Hat Runner and to Becca for this awesome race entry. And last but not least to Darlena over at Find Your Happy Pace for sending me an awesome letter and special present from Havasu Decals, check them out if you love to show off your Runner Love!
Enjoy the rest of your Holiday everyone!! |
